Nice. But...
...the point he makes at the start about the current print-based model means "i gotta go stand in line" when i wanna buy a magazine isn't solved here. In fact, its worse. In a store, multiple people can browse the shelves at once to decide what they want to buy. This alternative allows just one person at a time to browse the range and make their purchase.
Its like the touchscreen digital store maps that are popping up in large shopping centers these days. Great functionality in terms of enabling Search and animation to make finding your way easier, but gone are the days of multiple people being able to check out a regular non-interactive map of the center to find out where they need to go.
Now I find queues of people lining up single file to access the map.
Waste of time and not a well thought out use of digital media.
yes, but no ...
I think its more a POS (point of sale) decision to go to the table and buy a magazine...
would you even go to the website, search for a certain magazine, filter information and purchase when you even can go to the table and just flip the magazine into you tablet? ...
thinking...
Isn't the magazine stand of the future, like, y'know, the Web?
Why do I have to go to some stupid table to get a magazine when I can go to its Web site and buy it, from anywhere, at any time?
yes, but no ...
I think its more the particular form of POS (point of sale) which increases the need for the customer ...
would you go to the website, search, filter and purchase when you even can go to the table and just flip the magazine into your tablet?
Yes
Yeah i'd rather search, filter and purchase online rather than going to a shop to buy a digital copy. Any day of the week and twice on sundays
Interesting concept, but I'm
Interesting concept, but I'm not really sure why the table needs to be involved. Why can't I just browse the magazine rack on my device?
